THE BASKERVILLE RETURNS
The Baskerville Arms has been bought by local residents Tim Green and Greg Stone. They have managed to secure the freehold from Tavern Prop Co and have appointed Jeremy Buckler as the manager.
It is their intention to re-establish The Baskerville as a community based pub
with good pub food.
Tim and Greg hope to open The Baskerville before Christmas with a limited bar
snack menu and will communicate the opening date as soon as possible. The
decision was made to get the pub open and carry out improvement and
modification works over the next 12 months rather than leave the pub closed
for a further indefinite time. In the meantime a considerable amount of
electrical and plumbing work is being undertaken together with re-establishing
supplier relationships following the closure of the business in August.
Jeremy brings 30 years of experience of running very successful pubs in Henley
including 18 years at the Angel on the Bridge and 10 years at the Anchor.
Tim and Greg are very grateful for the messages of support that they have
received from the Shiplake community and look forward to rebuilding one of
the central assets of the village.
