Join Us to Thank Peter Boros – May 21st, 6:30 pm at Shiplake Memorial Hall
We are delighted to invite all Shiplake residents to a special presentation honouring Peter Boros for his outstanding leadership of the Thames Farm Action Group (TFAG). This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and express our heartfelt gratitude for Peter’s dedication and tireless service over many years. As many of you know, Peter will soon be moving to Marlow to begin an exciting new chapter. This celebration of his contributions will take place as part of the Annual Parish Meeting on Thursday, 21st May 2026, at 6:30 pm in the Shiplake Memorial Hall.
In addition:
- The PC will present a brief ‘State of the Parish’ update, including news on the new website and planning matters as well as a request for new councillor applications following the resignation of two councillors
- Resident John Crawford will present insights into local River Thames pollution monitoring
Everyone is welcome to join us for an evening of appreciation, community updates, and connection. We look forward to seeing you there!

More than 45 residents from Shiplake (and Harpsden and Henley!) attended this evening’s Annual Parish Meeting, which brought the community together to reflect on local achievements and recognise outstanding service to the parish.
The evening began with the Chair’s “State of the Parish” presentation, followed by an engaging talk from John Crawford on his ongoing monitoring of water quality in the River Thames at Shiplake and Wargrave.
A special highlight of the evening was the recognition of Peter Boros for his exceptional contribution to the community. Greg Stone of TFAG spoke about the history of the Thames Farm Action Group, outlining the organisation’s achievements and paying tribute to Peter’s leadership, dedication and expertise over the years.
As Chair of Shiplake Parish Council, I was delighted to present Peter with the very first Honorary Freeman of the Parish of Shiplake award. The honour recognises his exceptional service to Parish residents through his leadership of the Thames Farm Action Group.
Here are some photographs from a memorable evening celebrating community spirit and local commitment.

Thanks for the reminders Chris.
Looking forward to this opportunity to thank Peter for his hours of efforts to ensure our water supply is protected, not forgetting all of the Thames Farm Action Group.
This is an opportunity for all members of our community to come together to get involved, ask questions and express views on any matter connected with the Parish.
I am looking forward to John Crawford's presentation on the monitoring of the local river quality and this exciting project in Shiplake.
