As Chair of the Steering Group, apart from trying to manage a process that produces a plan that reflects the desires of the MAJORITY of the community, the SG also has to investigate issues and bring them into the open for residents to be properly informed.

To that end, it was but a few short weeks ago that we were all being told that site 27 was brownfield and therefore a priority for development for new housing. Equally that site 6 was not brownfield and as green field land should not be /MORE

The request was for simple legal guidance not site specific in any way. The writer has not agreed with your interpretation simply retracted his letter at 16.42 on Friday. You letter to the man provides a huge amount of unverified detail which is why it would be wrong to post it. I do not intend to engage in a tit for tat knock about. As I said residents should form their own conclusions given this was a simple request for LEGAL clarification and that is what he provided. Unbiased clarification.

CONT/ as clearly he does not like it's content.

Accordingly even though this was simply a statement about the interpretation of the law the letter has had to be withdrawn by the department.

I shall leave residents to come to their own conclusions about this situation.

I will also provide after the weekend an update of the article itself which was simply posted as Government Guidance.

CONT. allocated for housing. I therefore duly asked the relevant government department for guidance on the LEGAL interpretation of the NPPF. Ie was it a pre-requisite to have buildings on a former tipped on quarry for it to be determine as a Brownfield site. The response is posted under NP documents, and confirmed as not, but each case was to be determined locally on merit.

Mr Wright who objects to the allocation of site 6 has been in touch with the writer of the guidance letter /MORE
