Road safety inspectors from OCC looking at the New Road site
They either were not being drawn, seemed not to have read any of the objections - had no idea what pedestrian/cycling amenity use the road has (eg school kids/up to tennis club - only walking link between the Lower Shiplake and Shiplake). He let on that OCC might adopt the top bit of the road down to the site - he seemed to think that there were passing places. I then said that the junction Memorial Ave/Reading Road/Mill Lane is dangerous. I talked about the flooding down New Road when it rains and that the Crowsley Road/New Road junction can't take more traffic from a road safety perspective as people have to walk in the road.
They seemed to be taking the stance how to make it work... :(

ShiplakePC have a Planning meeting on 27th at Memorial Hall. YOu are welcome to attend. We have already made our comments known in objection to this site verus the made Neighbourhood Plan and we may add to this. Please ensure you have commented on SODC Planning site. Our local SODC, and now OCC councillor (replacing David Bartholomew) who would hold OCC Highways to account, is Leigh Rawlins. I have snet him a screen shot of this forum post. Any idea if our new councillor (no idea of the name or if they are local) is on this forum as I would expect them to be getting hands on and as involved in these planning issues as David did previously
