Annual Parish & Parish Council Meetings 12th May
Both Meetings are on Monday 12th May...Annual @ 7pm & the Council Meeting @7:30pm, both at Memorial Hall.
The Annual Meeting is short this year with approval of minutes + annual donations to the 'sick & poor funds', provided by Shiplake & neighbouring parish councils, and an Open Forum. In the past resident ideas/suggestions at Annual meetings have led to major undertakings e.g: Village Plan 2014, a new interactive website, Shiplake Neighbourhood Plan inc. major housing development objections, Station Road traffic management issues etc.. Your ideas are important, not least for the next iteration of the website and responding to unknown National & Local Govt. changes, which we will need to address.... 2 new councillors needed to ensure Shiplake retains it character/appeal. Your chance to make a difference.
The Council Meeting agenda is lengthy, as posted on the village notice boards & website but the Open Forum is early on the agenda for members of the public to address the Council. Meet new people? Leave when convenient. We look forward to seeing/hearing from you.
(Last but not least.....enormous thanks to David Bartholomew for all his guidance, support and involvement as a District and County councillor, living in and representing Shiplake and other parishes over the past c. 12 years.)
