Thames Farm - S of S Decision re EIA Requirement
Just a quick note to say that the Secretary of State's Office has ruled on the need for a full EIA following the referral by Taylor Wimpey in May, after SODC had failed to make a decision.
The decision notice, confirming the need for a full EIA, can be seen here, and is a victory for common sense!
Residents will be aware that Taylor Wimpey in fact submitted an EIA with their later Planning Application for the proposed Groundworks on this site made in August, albeit that TFAG believes that the EIA was a very poor 'half hearted' document.
It is that application and the attached documents to which we objected together with c 140 other residents. The full representations made by TFAG can be seen here.
It is now for SODC to decide if it considers the submitted EIA to be adequate, and either request more information and a wider coverage of issues in the EIA, or to make a decision based on what has been submitted.
