Night watch

Just before midnight last night a couple of people were walking up and down our Toast Lane shining powerful torches at all of our houses , rather than the lane itself. There was a pause, then they did the same again before going up to the station. This may have been totally innocent, although unnerving , but the main thing was - I wasn't sure what to do. Should I have called someone official and if so, who should that be ? Didn't want to cause fuss.

Hi Wendy I don't think there is a group set up for Toast Lane but perhaps it might be possible to join the group for Mill Road? The post on this forum lower down has a list of groups set up, but the closest ones would seem to be a) Station Road -Diana Estornel - dianaestornel@yahoo.com b) Mill Road -Kim Mead - kimmead1@icloud.com but I don't believe they are strictly neighbourhood watch schemes, but to aid communication within the area. Hope this helps. I would have been concerned too.

Thanks, John. Actually have no idea who my neighbourhood person is . Havel looked on the village website, but that seems out of date .

Were they shining torches upwards? I observed something similar some months ago on a dark morning about 6am on Crowsley Road. It appeared to be a systematic examination of location of security alarms. Suggest you log your incident with Neighbourhood Watch and the police.
