Plannin Applications Around Shiplake

All,

I like many of you have seen David Bartholomew's note regarding Planning Applications and 'Planning Fatigue'.

I would have thought that as we are directly affected by all of these developments which are coming with alarming regularity (not all unacceptable), that it is time for a dialogue with SODC over what their intentions are in relation to these applications and to have an agreed method of moving forwards including directing people to the preferred options. 500 limit reached!

My home is directly above the proposed site for the Retirement Village. I am extremely concerned about this development and hope with a concerted effort from those living in Shiplake and surrounding areas that we fight this planning. I have posted my objection to SODC on 8.11.16 and added further comments on 21.11.16 following my attendance at the Parish Council Meeting on 14.11.16. I look forward to joining forces with other objectors. Tina Dalzell

Peter, FYI c/o Geoff Thomas...the parish council chairman and members of its Planning Working Group were scheduled to meet with senior SODC planning personnel earlier this month, to discuss major concerns with their current approach to planning and specific issues such as those you reference. This was postponed due one of the SODC staff suffering appendicitis and a new date is being arranged asap. We will update everyone once the meeting has taken place.

Thanks David, I was hoping we might be able to examine the specifics and identify deliverable list of priorities in so far as Shiplake is a small village hence sites need to be prioritised and a agreed plan to plug the shortfall gap identified.

Peter, the NP has already identified the preferred options. It is being given little weight because of SODC's failure to identify sites elsewhere in the district.
