Thames Farm P16/SO970/O - The unexpected consequences

Hello everyone. Like a number of you I have objected quite vociferously to this development primarily on the grounds that the local infrastructure simply cannot handle a further 4-500 people ie 2.4 kids etc. One of the things I did not appreciate is that the new residents will be closer to the primary school and hence will have a greater entitlement than many living in Lower Shiplake already!

Just wait till the same thing happens at the doctors!

I would urge everyone to attend tomorrow!

Peter, let me add more to previous response. Parish councillors will be fighting very hard tomorrow night to have this application rejected. We have a lot of local support but as with many things, if you are not prepared to fight for something do not be surprised if you lose it. Response: attend the meeting tomorrow evening and make your presence felt: Wednesday 7th September at 6pm at:
The Fountain Suite, Howbery Park, Benson Lane, Wallingford, OX10 8BA...this is no time for complacency!

Peter, many thanks for your note. Yes, it is fear a we have that Lower Shiplake children may well lose the opportunity of attending the local primary school and would be 'bussed' into Henley or elsewhere ...now the threat is very real. All residents with children and/or grandchildren should object to this situation being imposed on them...details of how are on the website Council section under Planning.
OBJECT NOW to the Thames Farm planning application!
