More about the upcoming retirement village

The application for approval of Reserved Matters relating to the extra care development of up to 65 units comprising of apartments and cottages plus associated communal facilities etc is now in. Residents can comment on the details, but not the overall principle of development, which already has outline permission.

I urge residents to comment on this application as it will have a huge impact on Shiplake. Some who have already done so have objected to the principle of the development itself. Unfortunately, these are wasted words as the development already has 'Outline' permission. Comments should focus on details like: the number of cottages/flats, urban access gates, inappropriate signage, size of buildings, tree screening, light pollution, amount of car parking, travel plan, impact on water supply, etc.
