Good news- Plowden redevelopment Permission in Principle scheme rejected

SODC has rejected a developer's PIP plan for the Plowden Arms to create 8 homes & a small pub P20/S1872/PIP.  SODC was unconvinced the existing pub wasn't economically viable or meeting the needs of the community. The scheme would hamper pub's viability & would result in the loss of an essential community facility, detracting from the quality & convenience of everyday life in the settlement, and would be prejudicial to local road safety. The building has been assessed as a non-designated heritage asset. The PC continues to push for Asset of Community Value designation.
