Proposed block of flats & car park in Station Road
Please be aware the applicant has submitted a revised proposal under reference P20/S1405/FUL. In my view the changes make very little difference to the impact of such an out-of-keeping development. In essence, the changes are: 1) height, width and depth of building reduced next to western boundary 2) front dormer reduced 3) rooflights altered 4) corrections to balcony screening 5) addition of chimneys.
If you have previously objected, your points will still be taken into account but I strongly recommend you object again stating that the changes make no difference to you original points.
Please ensure your objections are on planning grounds. I will post some separate guidance in relation to this.

I am pleased to report that the appeal has been dismissed and the character of Station Road has been safeguarded.

Yes, they can appeal. Alternatively, they could build the single detached house for which they already have permission.

That's good news (although I'm not familiar with the process - can they appeal?). Thanks for the update.

The planning application for this site will be heard next week December 2nd. 5 mins is allocated for all submissions. If anyone has/or intends to make an application to use some of that time, I would be grateful if he/she would let me know so that contributions can be co-ordinated. I intend to register an interest to speak - along lines regarding both the impact on The Oaks and also on Station Road and the Village. email green-tim@btconnect.com.

I have resubmitted my objections. We are still faced with a pretty massive building with a carpark replacing a front garden. The plan shows that 40 people could all sit down to a meal at the same time, in the building. No place for the bins; how many on the street on bin day? If flats are where the money is, expect most/all large houses in Station Road to follow the precedent - with car parks in front. To retain the character of the village - this should be one dwelling only. Please call it!
