Just a reminder that there is still time to comment on the Application for Permission in Principle, to develop the Plowden Arms in to 8 dwellings and bar area.
The application states the Permission in Principle is sought for the 'diversification of the site in order to preserve a public house use'.
The Application Ref is P20/S1872/PIP.
Comments can only be made before the 6th July 2020.

So, have you registered your thoughts on the application to alter the Plowden to 8 dwellings and an 80squre metre (i.e tiny) pub? Your voice does matter. Local democracy matters. Please follow the highlighted link on Jo's original post

The Plowden Arms is part of Shiplake. The reason for the application is none other than to make money regardless of the relevance of the pub. From what I remember part of the sale contract was that the site could not be used as a private dwelling if sold as it had to remain an amenity for the village. Very crafty what the owners are trying to do. Deffo ate NO to the application. There is too much infilling going on in Shiplake. Ann Spearpoint Shiplake resident

Please do take the opportunity to comment on the proposal. Your voice does matter and will be taken into account by SODC when they make their decision. If you choose not to make your voice heard then effectively you are saying you don't mind what the outcome is. It will take you 5 minutes to comment. The alternative could be the Plowden Arms will be gone forever.
