Wargrave & Shiplake Regatta
The Wargrave and Shiplake Regatta is the second largest Regatta on the Thames after the Henley Royal Regatta (according to Wikipedia).
1000 competitors take part in 400 races over two days, in skiffs, punts and rowing boats. It is an amateur event where beginners and experts are welcome

Join us on the riverbank to watch the racing, enjoy a picnic by the river and let the kids run wild.
Food stalls, beer tent, kid’s play area, Regatta shop and more.
If you fancy having a go enter the Scratch Dongola on the Saturday. Register at 9am.
Easy to walk to and good terrain for buggies, plus plenty of parking.

Free WSR Taster Session This Sunday
This Sunday, 25th June, Wargrave & Shiplake Regatta is running the first of their free taster sessions to help more people take part. Come along and try out some traditional boating with expert tuition and all equipment provided.
The session is at Wargrave Boat Club, 1pm to 4pm. No booking necessary but do bring a change of clothes incase you go for an accidental swim! If you’re on the Shiplake bank there’s a free ferry across from the field at the end of Mill Lane. Find out more: https://wsregatta.co.uk/free-training-days/

Wargrave & Shiplake Regatta Entries Now Open
The Regatta returns on the 4th & 5th August, and whether you’re a complete novice or a seasoned competitor there’s something for everyone from under 12s to veterans. If you don’t know your punt pole from your paddle, start with the Thames Dongola and get six of you together into a crew. It’s a bit like dragon boating but in a punt! There’s also two, free have-a-go afternoons at Wargrave Boat Club on 25th June and 9th July suitable for children and adults. For families enjoy a day out in a gorgeous riverside setting, just a ten minute walk from Shiplake Station, made even better if you’re cheering on family or friends, or entering yourself...
